Information we handle
You can browse and play without creating an account. Our hosting and security providers may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, including IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, approximate location, timestamps and diagnostic logs.
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include and use it to answer your message, manage a request or meet a legal obligation.
Third-party games and game providers
Our playable games may be embedded or otherwise supplied by third-party game distributors, publishers and technology partners. When a game loads, the relevant provider and its advertising, analytics, consent and technology partners may process device information, IP address, identifiers, game activity and advertising interactions through cookies, local storage, pixels, SDKs and similar technologies.
The provider used for a game may be identified through the game experience or its privacy notices. Current provider information includes the GameDistribution User Privacy Notice; additional provider notices will be added when other game partners become active.
Advertising and monetization services
We use or may use advertising and monetization services supplied by third-party vendors, either directly or through authorized publishing partners. These services may support ad delivery, frequency limiting, measurement, fraud prevention, consent, reporting and, where permitted, personalized advertising.
These providers may include Google advertising products, such as Google AdSense or Google Ad Manager, and Google Certified Publishing Partners. Purposes and legal bases
We process information to provide and secure the site, respond to requests, remember permitted choices, understand basic performance, comply with law and support advertising. Depending on the activity and location, the legal basis may be consent, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, performance of a requested service or compliance with legal obligations.
Sharing and international transfers
Information may be processed by our hosting infrastructure, relevant game, advertising, analytics, consent, security and technology partners, and other service providers that help operate, protect or measure the site. These providers may process information in countries outside your own. Where required, they use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
Retention
We retain direct communications only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain necessary records or meet legal obligations. Third-party providers set their own retention periods in their respective notices.
Children
Midnight Arcade is a general-audience service and is not specifically directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information can contact us to request appropriate action.
Your choices and rights
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and you may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Consent and advertising choices can be changed through the privacy interface when displayed, through browser controls and through provider preference tools.
